In a buyback the company starts to repurchase some of its shares, most likely they will just buy them back in the open market, just like if you were to buy shares. This normally a bullish sign because the supply for the general public is lowered and the demand remains the same.

It could also mean that the company is bullish about their future and are reinvesting in themselves.
