Can’t think of anything here, that’s probably why it seems to be going all online these days. But I guess some people would rather have something that they can touch as opposed to having it all online.

If there were sufficient financail turmoil that your brokerage firm holding your stock in street name went bankrupt, and if there were enough of these cases that the SIPC and secondary insurances couldn't cover the loss, you would still own your stock.
If there were cyber-warfare or EMD or something else that destroyed computer records, you would have proof of ownership.
