I am a new investor (actually brand new - always had an interest but never got my feet wet) and recently I made my first ever trade with the help of a good friend. We have been taking a LOT of interest in emerging 'green' companies, particularly penny stock companies (we define penny stock as 1 cent to 2 dollars - our definition). We've been researching companies taking great risk in developing products for, what we view as, the 'new economy' - one that is based on environmentally sustainable products. Products that just make good economic sense as well as friendly for the environment.
In any case, by following this train of thought, and by researching these types of companies, my first ever trade was a success! I bought 10000 shares of BEHL Biocentric Energy at $0.046 and sold at $0.068 for a profit of roughly $220. Beginners luck? Possibly, but I have a lot of faith in the this emerging economy and expect to see a lot of changes in the near future.
I'm a photographer currently working in Mexico planning to open a film studio in the next year or so. My plan is to fund my studio through investments such as the stock market. You can check out my photography at www.lochinvarsturdy.com.
My Investment in Stocks

I am a graduate of Business Education from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. I learnt about stocks in the university and new how to read stock prices and its movements. I started to invest early as soon as I started work and use my certificates and dividend warrants to teach my students. Despite my poor salary I joined a co-opeative society where I borrow money to invest. I am in the 18th year of investment and my little dividends have enable me to think independently and to forsee a great future as some of my early investments of 300Ngn is now worth 80,000Ngn. I am contemplating going into real trading. I encourage would be investors to study daily and seek information before going into investment in stocks. However, its worth the time and sacrifice.
