Watching Stock market events
Stock market events are important to keep a watch out for. Researching stock help you avoid encountering sudden suppresses.
The first thing you want to be aware of is earnings announcements. Earnings season comes about every 3 months and can affect individual stocks greatly. If a company has good earnings there stock will probably go up. If they have bad earnings there stock will probably head down. However predicting earnings can be very risky, it can be a good idea to stay away from a stock when it is announcing earnings.
Another thing you may want to keep an eye out for is the federal meetings. Every now and then the feds will cut or raise interest rates. This can have a huge impact on the movement of the market. Stocks may rally on the news of an interest rate cut because it helps the growth of a business. They will often fall on news of an increase in the interest rate because that can hurt growth.
You may also want to check on the company itself to make sure that it is a good company. I take a quick look at the company itself to see how it is doing before I make a trade. I do not want to buy a stock that is going to file bankruptcy tomorrow if I can avoid it.
Finally I always want to check out the technicals of a given stock before I decide to trade it. I want to know if it is up trending, or forming any patterns such as chart patterns or candlestick patterns. That can be very important in deciding which way to trade a given stock, or if I want to trade the stock at all. If the technicals are not strong I will not making the trade. Checking the trend of the industry group and overall market may be helpful as well.
There is a lot of homework to be done for every trade. It is important to be ware of stock market events. Just remember don’t overdo it. While it is important to put the odds in your favor, you will not make any money until you pull the trigger. You can’t wait until everything is perfect before you act because it never will be.
