Question: What is an intermarket sweep order and how does that affect a sell order of a stock?

Answer: Normally when an order is entered it looks for the trading center with the best possible price to get filled at.

An Intermarket Sweep Order on the other hand is an order that is to be filled by a certain trading center whether or not they offer the best deal.

Personally as far as trading goes, I can't imagine how it can be helpful
