Stocks Simplified Writes
by: Shaun

“Decimalization” in the stock market started on August 28, 2000 with the first symbols to being “Decimalized” being, APC,FDX,FCEA,FCE.B,GTW,HUG,MNS. It was an ongoing process that was ordered by the SEC and lasted well into 2001.

Just a side note, the 1/8 trade units came from the Spanish “real” coin. The coin was split into ½ real, ¼ real, and 1/8 real. Personally cents makes more sense to me, so I’m glad for the change.
