I'm not sure what a split did to the stock value.

by Mr. O

Hi. I have 25000 shares of Alternet System Inc (ticker: ALYI.OB). I bought these back in April 2004 and was wondering how much these are worth. I know it says ca. 0.05 today, BUT I know they had a split of some sort and I'm not sure what that did to the stock value. Does anyone know?
Thank you, O

When a stock splits the shares value is lowered but you get more shares to adjust for it. So, you end up with the same value as you had before.

If the stock is trading at $.05 then that is what you would get if you sold it, so that is the important number.
