Global Funds

Global funds allow you to invest in multiple different countries. This allows you to have a more diversified portfolio.

Most people get this fund mixed up with international funds or foreign funds. The difference is foreign funds only invest in countries outside of your home country; where as global funds invest both outside of your country and inside of it. This allows them to invest in any opportunities available.

So is this type of fund right for you? That depends. If you want to have a diversified portfolio of long term stocks it makes good sense to invest in a fund that invest in many different stocks in many different countries. If you are a short term trader or want to pick your own stocks this might not be right for you.
