Can I sell an In The Money Call Option?

If I own 100 shares of xyz corp. can I sell a deeply in the money call option, planning to have the call exercised, so that I can keep the option time premium?

Yes you can, just remember that you are probably going to get called out and have to sell the stock. Your biggest risk of doing this as opposed to just selling the stock is that the stock could fall below the strike price you sold the call at and you would miss your opportunity of selling the stock at a higher price.
