Can I Get Anything From These Old KMart Shares?

by Terrence
(South Bend, Indiana)

I recently found a stock certificate my father received when he retired from the KMart Corporation.

The certificate was issued in 1988. I know KMart stock is no longer sold on the NYSE, but I seem to remember when they 'merged' with Sears to become the Sears Holding Corporation, there was a 1-1 stock switch. Can this be done at this time, or is it way past it's time.

Thanks

Sadly KMart stock is worthless now. But you might still be able to sell it to collectors.

There are a couple links on the bottom of this page that can help you determine if the stock has any collectable value.
