Balance Sheet

The Balance Sheet keeps a record of a company’s assets and liabilities. It gives an idea of what a company owns, owes, its owed and the amount that is invested by shareholders.

It is made in 2 parts based off of the following equation.

Assets = Liabilities+Shareholder equity

This means that assets are balanced by a company's financial obligations along with the equity investment brought into the company. This statement is a snapshot of a company at a single point in time.

So how can you find this financial statement? Believe it or not it is easy to find and free to look through. You can find balance sheets on many financial websites like yahoo finance as well as the security and exchange commission website.
