While I don?t know the exact number of market participants, worldwide the number is probably in the 100 of millions.
Considering that there are $36 Trillion in the world stock market and considering that the average account is probably between $36,000 to $360,000 that would mean there are somewhere between 100 million and 1 billion people actively investing into the market. It's probably closer to 1 billion.
