Trend Following Book Review

Trend following, written by Michael Covel is a great book on trading with the trend and how it compares to buy and hold. Anyone who is uncertain if trend trading is actually a workable strategy should READ THIS BOOK.

The book interviews and examines the practices of millionaires and billionaire trend traders, including Ed Seykota who has done amazing feats in the market including turning $5,000 into $15,000,000 in just 12 years.

The insight you get from these professional traders is priceless and you can definitely benefit from it no matter how long you have been in the market.

Covel also gives some examples of how to better prepare for market crashes. Instead of losing money during 2008, like most mutual funds, it was one of the biggest gains ever for many of the trend traders in the book.

There is also some interesting findings on

1. How to look at drawbacks

2. How trading is like baseball

3. How trend traders made money in 2008

4. And more

Towards the end of the book Covel talked about a few different trading strategies that have been tested and proven successful over a period of many many years, including stocks that no longer exist.

So if you want to get into trading the trend, Trend Following is one of the top books for you to read. It will give you confidence and let you know what to expect as you start your trading journey.
