How to Buy Penny Stocks

How to buy penny stocks? That was most likely the thought that was flowing through your mind when you heard about stocks trading at such low prices. There are 3 steps to doing this correctly, you must, find a broker, research a stock, and place the order.

1. Find a Broker

Most stock transactions require a broker. Unfortunately it does require you to pay a commission to buy and sell a stock. When you are looking for where to buy penny stocks, the cheaper the better.

You do have to pay some sort of commission; you can’t get something for nothing. But luckily there are brokers out there that are relatively cheap.

Here is a list of low cost brokers that will help you buy and sell stocks as cheaply as possible.

2. Do Research

The next step is to do your research on the company itself. If you believe that the stock is worth the risk for whatever reason then have at it.

Hopefully the research is your own and you are not buying it based on some “hot tip” or some email scam. There are a lot of scams in the “Penny Stock Market,” so watch out.

3. Place the Order

Once you have a brokerage account and have a penny stock that you believe will take off the next step is to place the order. You can do this by simply going to your brokerage account, entering the stock symbol and the amount you are buying and then clicking “submit order.”

The stock will be bought in the next available time, during market hours.

How to Buy Penny Stocks Without a Broker

Remember when you are looking for where to buy penny stock one thing you should be concerned about is the cost. Ideally the best place to buy/sell penny stocks is the place that is free. And while most of the time it is impossible to avoid the commission this is not always the case.

Some companies do sell their stocks to the general public. This means you can get the stock without paying any sort of brokerage commissions or fees. But it is a long shot and really only works well if you are only going to be buying one or two companies that you think will take off and want to hold onto their stock for a while.
