Closed Ended Fund

A closed ended fund (closed ended mutual fund) or a closed ended investment is a type of fund that is traded very differently then open ended funds.

Simply put this is a type of fund that is traded freely on the open market just like a stock. Usually a fund like this raises a fixed amount of capital through Initial Public offering (IPO) before starting out.

Unlike regular stocks a fund that is closed ended is composed of a wide variety of equities which are constantly being bought or sold and the price of the equity is affected by that.

While there is a large variety of different funds that concentrate on different markets and sectors here is a small list.

ADF – Income Fund

AGD – Global Fund

AMO – All Market Fund

BOE - Long Term Fund

CFD – Income Fund

DUC – Income Fund

FFC - Income Fund

FXBY – Growth Fund

JFTH – Financial Fund

KSM - Income Fund
